What would have caused the great European powers to go to war (if at all) had Archduke Ferdinand not been killed in Sarajevo?

Good question. War may have been held off for years, but also remember that Kaiser Wilhelm was a rather lousy leader. Also, there is the possibility that such an assassination could have happened later instead, possibly triggering war. Most importantly, Communist revolution would have been set back because the Germans would not have sent Lenin to Russia to start the Revolution
