In an unprecedented turn of events a multi-national terrorist attack destroys monuments all across the world. A homemade nuclear bomb bought with supplies from third world countries detonates on Pennsylvania avenue across from the East Building of the National Gallery of Art, destroying most of DC and the government heads. Very little logical warning was given to any of the major heads of state, detering the FBI that the attack was supposed to be focused in Japan as the "second Hiroshima". In New York seven c4 detonators rock the city once again, bringing down a section of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty (brought down by a speed boat)and obliterating the United Nations HQ. Simultaneously a truck bomb smaller than the DC bomb destroys Big Ben and tears a gaping hole in the parliment, detonating on the corner of Abington and St Margaret. A bomb was found and quickly defused in Australia saving most of the Sydney down-town from being obliterated. Other close saves kept the Red Square in Russia and the Eiffel Tower intact. The world goes into a safe lock-down mode. Transportation comes to a complete halt and in Russia, Britain, Canada, Japan, Australia, and most other countries a government imposed house arrest of the population within major cities takes effect along with a freeze on all forms of communication except government regulated office to office contact. For the first time in the history of it's creation the internet is disabled by all major service providers around the World, along with Google, Yahoo, and other major web search engines. By 12:00 pm the world has reached an entire freeze of all communications and a point of total isolation.
